star Carole Baskin was convinced by YouTube pranksters to have her first ever interview by pretending to be Jimmy Fallon.
The owner of Big Cat Rescue animal sanctuary was seen talking via Zoom with a man she believed to be a producer of the much-loved US chat show, which is typically held from New York.
She then answered questions from ‘Jimmy’ about her life in lockdown, completely unaware it was all a ruse.
In fact, it was a massive set up from Josh Pieters and Archie Manners, who had previously conned Katie Hopkins into accepting a fake award for ‘
In the chat, Carole was told by Archie (playing the producer) that she wouldn’t be able to see Jimmy, but would be able to hear him as he asked questions.
This allowed Josh to press a series of pre-programmed questions and statements recorded from Jimmy’s show from an iPad to send over to her.
During the interview, Carole reveals the lockdown has meant she’s had to let go of half of her staff as she struggled to keep the animal sanctuary afloat.
She was also seen promoting the Big Cat Safety Act, a piece of legislation she’s fighting to secure in the US prohibiting the ownership and sale of exotic animals.
This isn’t the first time the pair have done something like this – first testing out the fake interview technique on reality show stars, Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, who they were told were being interviewed by James Corden.
They also successfully tricked Craig David into thinking he was also being interviewed by the Late Late Show presenter too.
