Margie and Danny Brantley have a very special love story.
The couple was born on the same day in 1951. Once they met and fell in love, they decided to get married on their shared 19th birthday on May 6 in 1970.
This May, their birthday will be extra special. Not only will they each turn 69 years old, but it‘ll be their 50th wedding anniversary.
Erica Goswick, a loved one of the duo, said there was originally supposed to be a big party thrown for the happy couple, but social distancing guidelines threw a wrench in their special day.
Instead, the family planned a secret celebration for the “phenomenal lovebirds:” a surprise parade of family members and friends, lined up in vehicles to shout good wishes, honk horns and wave at the couple whose story inspires them.
All said and done, Goswick said about 40 to 50 cars showed up, with a total of 80 people flooding the streets to celebrate love and life during a time that needs a little more positivity and hope.
“They are truly an inspiration to the whole family,” said Goswick.
