When New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo visited the White House a few weeks ago, he turned down an invitation from President Donald Trump to take part in a press conference with him, reported on Sunday.
Officials with knowledge of the offer told the newspaper that the idea of the proposed joint press briefing was encouraged by White House senior adviser Hope Hicks, who is also a former Trump campaign staffer
However, Cuomo departed the April 21st White House meeting without any photographs taken of the governor together with Trump.
